Searching for specific topics in the Bible can be slow, tedious work; and most reference books cover the material from a sect-specific perspective. I have started this "work in progress", in order to correct this oversight.
The source Bible is the King James Version, which has a long history of acceptance. Many modern versions have been changed in order to reflect the beliefs of certain groups: some contemporary Bibles contain entries that have never existed in earlier works, and some have actually rewritten verses so that the exact opposite idea is expressed. Of course, the aforementioned problems are also present in the KJV, which contains considerable additional text, which was added centuries after Christ, that does not appear in the oldest New Testament manuscripts. However, it is impractical to reference obscure Biblical documents for the purposes of this project, so the KJV shall be treated as the "lesser of many evils".
This categorization of the Bible was started in order to help me with my research. Much of the information has not yet been compiled, and exists as piles of unsorted papers: so do not consider this site as being anywhere near completion. Every category is, as yet, unfinished; and will be expanded as my time permits.
This is not a forum for religious debate. I will not entertain any sectarian arguments over the scriptures. This is simply a sorting of the Biblical text, with some supporting information and commentary. The scriptures are word-for-word. Contradictions pointed out in the Bible are not intended to ridicule the concept of God, but to stress the fact that the books contained therein are subject to the cultural and egoistic biases of the men who wrote them.
